Why do birthdays make us anxious?

Is it just me or are birthdays filled with so much anxiety? Is it getting older or just planning or both? Not saying I agree with people not placing emphasis on it, but I definitely understand. If we've ever spent time together, you know how seriously I take not only my birthday but everyone's around me. There was an episode on the Netflix show Bling empire where cast member Anna Shay flew out her friend to Paris for her birthday. During the episode, all they did was eat and shop. If it was up to me, this is something I would do for all my loved ones - that's how much I love birthdays! I just love celebrating life.
How did I end up celebrating my birthday?

If you read my last post, you probably already know the reflection I had around my birthday. I did not want anything tangible, but I did want to be surrounded by people who brought me joy. Sounds simple but was simplicity the outcome? NO! I ended up having had a last-minute dinner the day of my birthday with some friends in Silverspring, Maryland AND did a whole luxury weekend for some friends in New York (this needs its own blog post, I'm still processing my thoughts).
In case you did not see my recap
video on Instagram, here are some photos my amazing friend took during DINNER #1 (Dinner #1 sounds so insane). Will I be dining again at any restaurant with more than 6 people? Probably not, Tax and gratuity are getting insane. Will I end up doing the most again for my birthday? Probably yes!

In true Thelms fashion, every restaurant I dined at had GREAT food and ambiance (I know you all love aesthetics but this babe LOVES good food). For Silverpring, I dined at L'ardante and All set restaurant, while in New York, I dined at Sweet Chick, Fushimi, and Sveta. See here for google reviews or here for Yelp reviews. (Whatever floats your boat, pictures attached)
How should you celebrate yours?
Don't let your birthday stress you out, everyone is celebrating YOU. Just thank God for another day of life and do what is the best fitting for you. You won't remember the little details in the future, just the love you felt during the day or week or for someone like me, the month. Interested in more topics? SUBSCRIBE HERE
